Beth & Scott and Friends seek to create community through music and invite all students to become active participants in the Arts. We use music, drama, humor, storytelling, yoga and movement to create an atmosphere of fun, respect and inclusion. Since 1993, we have been writing and performing original assemblies based upon themes that are important to preK-6th grade and serve to support the social emotional and academic needs of students. Additionally, we provide workshops and residencies in songwriting that help students to develop creativity, collaboration and critical thinking skills. More recently, we have become trained instructors in Mindfulness and we combine that modality with movement to support the whole child.

“Beth & Scott and Friends has an assembly program entitled ‘Celebrate Diversability’, a 45 minute program that supports inclusion and provides schools with information about how to treat a person with diverse abilities. This program also serves to help children with disabilities feel that they are honored and included. Beth & Scott and Friends also conducts a songwriting workshop, ‘Sing About Learning’, that can be conducted in classrooms with special need students.”
